Memorial to Robert Hooley

It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the death of our dear father, Robert K. Hooley, on September 7, 2021.  Pastor Hooley, 91, ever the meek and mild gentleman, slipped away peacefully at in his sleep, from natural causes.

Earlier in the week, he had received many visits from friends and loved ones whom he has treasured for years.  He was particularly touched by a wonderful praise service he shared with one family from Bethel Biblical.  His heart was blessed beyond measure.

In honoring our father’s personal wishes for simplicity in marking his passing, we share RobertHooley.org “Words for Living” in place of a formal memorial.  This is our family’s public testimony of his life and his walk with the Lord. It is our opportunity as his family to say good-bye and express our deep love for him.

Robert Hooley is survived by three sisters; daughters, Dianna McDowell and Cindy Morrison; grandchildren, Jason Morrison, Jennifer Morrison, Kimberly McDowell, Jeffrey Morrison (deceased) and Robert McDowell; great-grandchildren, Madyson Morrison, Christopher Linzy, Jake Morrison, Grace Morrison, Catherine McDowell, Savanna Linzy, Graham Whitney, and Landon McDowell.

On behalf of the entire Robert K. Hooley family, we, his daughters, thank you for the outpouring of love and support at the loss of our father. May the Lord bless you.

“Cindy, this is Yoram calling from Jerusalem. Just received the email from Peter Brock informing me that your dad passed away two days ago. I wanted to express my deep, deep, deep, deep condolences.

And what a loss of — a loss of mentor, of the teacher, of dedicated warrior on behalf of decency, values, good values, U.S.-Israeli relations. And as far as I’m concerned, most importantly, major warrior, tenacious warrior on behalf of the Jewish state, its national security, its survival.

The bottom line is that your dad deserves — deserved — the Jewish term mensch. Mensch is a Jewish term for a solid, good human being.

I could go on and on, but the sorrow overwhelms me. And once again, condolences and my sadness upon the passing away of a very rare, very rare human being, a teacher and friend.

Wishing you much health. And may we all deserve to walk in the footsteps of your dad.

Shalom.
